Former Chief Advisor, Executive Board, Bengal Institute for Architecture, Landscapes and Settlements. Abulkalam Abdul Momen is a Bangladeshi economist and diplomat.

Abulkalam Abdul Momen was Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York from August 2009 through October 2015. Prior to joining the United Nations, Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen was the Chairman of the Business Administration and Economics Department at the Framingham State University in Massachusetts.

He served as President of the UNICEF Executive Board at the international level in 2010. He was Vice President and Acting President of the 67th United Nations General Assembly.

Professor Momen is a writer and an activist. He has written two books and published over 250 papers and articles. He has a PhD in economics and an MBA in Business Administration from the Northeastern University (Boston) and an MPA in Public Administration, Public Policy and International Economics from the Harvard University (Cambridge), a LLB in Law, an MA in development economics and a BA from the University of Dhaka.
