Garga Chatterjee works at the intersection of various fields focusing on spatial perception. After graduating in medicine (MBBS) from Medical College, University of Calcutta, Chatterjee received his PhD from Harvard University in the Cognition, Brain and Behavior track at the Vision Sciences Lab headed by Professor Ken Nakayama. He completed his postdoctoral training at the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Massachusetts Institute of Technology at the lab of Professor Pawan Sinha (2011-2014). From 2012 to 2013, he had been a lecturer at Lesley University in Massachusetts. From 2015, he has been a faculty member at the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata. He also writes regular columns for various newspapers.
