She holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Geography and Environment from the University of Dhaka. Her expertise lies in analyzing Earth’s physical processes, environmental systems, and their interactions with human systems through spatial analysis. Driven by a deep interest in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing, Israt applies advanced geospatial techniques to address critical challenges such as disaster risk and resilience, climate variability and change, coastal processes, land use and land cover change, urban climate dynamics, and urban environmental issues.
As a Senior Research Associate, she is involved in both applied and academic research, contributing to projects that integrate geospatial science with planning and policy. Her work reflects a commitment to building climate resilience, sustainable futures, and evidence-based decision-making. Guided by a belief in interdisciplinary collaboration, Israt aims to bridge research and real-world application, using data-driven insights to inform governance, enhance community well-being, and promote climate-resilient, sustainable development in the face of rapid environmental change.
