A three-week-long workshop exploring the quest of Bangla calligraphy, typography and primers. This multi-activity workshop will focus on understanding and learning the relationship between Bangla calligraphy, typography, and the motifs and design patterns of Bengal.

Goals and Objectives

The Quest of Bangla Calligraphy, Typography and Primers workshop guides participants re-visiting historical designs and typography of Bengal, understanding the foundational connections between Bangla calligraphy and typography, and learning key principles of basic letterform construction. The workshop provides experience with Bengal’s distinctive motifs and design patterns. This also engages in thoughtful discussions on Bangla calligraphy and typography aesthetics. Through an introduction to both calligraphy and typography fundamentals, participants will develop skills and understanding in implementing typography within design.

1. Date: October 11 – October 30, 2025
Workshop meetings: 6:00-8:30 PM
Total duration: 3 weeks (10 classes in total)

2. Venue: Bengal Institute for Architecture, Landscapes and Settlements, House No. 14, Road No. 71, Gulshan 2 (North), Dhaka

3. Workshop Fee:
Regular participants: 8,000 BDT
Students: 5,000 BDT (Valid student ID required)

4. Important Dates:

5. Application Requirements:
– Designers, artists, architects, cultural enthusiasts, and anyone with a Bachelor’s Degree or a final year undergraduate studentship from any discipline may apply.
– Limited seats available to ensure the quality of discussion and interaction
