Space Making: Towards Aspirations and New Experiences | November 2025

SPACE MAKING: TOWARDS ASPIRATIONS AND NEW EXPERIENCES | A SPATIAL EXPLORATION WITH THE EMINENT ARTIST DHALI AL MAMOON

This two-week-long workshop explores what space is, why it exists, the impact of its forms, adaptation, etc., through various processes, while also attempting to construct new spaces towards new forms and experiences. In the construction or creation of space, there will be opportunities to engage the senses rather than relying solely on rigid visual perception – through the use of sound, touch, and even smell, so that the experience becomes even more profound.

Goals and Objectives

Titled “SPACE MAKING: TOWARDS ASPIRATIONS AND NEW EXPERIENCES”, the workshop will explore space as a constant and multidimensional presence within us and within all objects around us. Along with the essence of space, its various forms like physical, emotional, metaphorical, and beyond all these. Besides, investigates how it shapes perception, experience, and creativity. Participants will understand the concept of space making. Explore how space co-responds with bodies, objects, and perceptions in creative and cultural contexts, and explore the sensory aspects of space, moving beyond the visual to embrace the sound, touch, and even feel the smell. Also, experiment with creating spaces to generate new creative forms. They will gain both conceptual understanding and hands-on experience of space, which will open pathways for fresh creative practices.
