Holger Kleine received his B. Arch. at the Cooper Union in New York and his Diploma at the TU Berlin. After practicing with Eisenman Architects and Sauerbruch Hutton architects in 1999 he founded his own practice in Berlin. It (www.design-follows-drama.com) focuses on public and residential buildings and has won numerous prizes in open competitions. Among the projects realized are the German Embassy in Warsaw and the social-housing project “Jules et Jim”. In 2010 Holger Kleine received an Artist’s scholarship at the German Study Center in Venice. Since 2010 he has been a full time professor at the Hochschule RheinMain (HSRM) in Wiesbaden, Germany. In 2013 he was awarded 1st prize for excellency in teaching at HSRM. His focus in research and in teaching has been interior public space. In 2014 he published “New Mosques” (Jovis, Berlin) and in 2018 “The Drama of Space” (Birkhäuser, Basel), a fundamental study on the typology of spatial sequences.
