Sonia Amin is an eminent historian and current Chairperson and Professor at the Department of History of University of Dhaka. She has been researching on social history of 19th and 20th century for the last few decades. More than thirty books have been published at home and abroad as part of her research.She has published extensively on women’s history in Bengal and contributed to various anthologies on women, including ‘From the Seams of History’ (1995) and ‘Mind, Body and Society in Colonial Bengal’ (1996).
