Dirk van Gameren speaks about landscape architecture and design at Chhayanaut Auditorium organised by Bengal Institute

Dirk van Gameren, Design and Research Director in the leading European practice Mecanoo and the Dean of Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TUDelft, Netherlands talked about how landscapes shape buildings, and how buildings create in their turn landscapes, and how buildings and landscapes can work together to create places of meaning and identity. This was illustrated by a set of remarkable projects by Mecanoo Architects, including the Royal Embassy of the Netherlands in Ethiopia, that won the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2007, the IJdock in Amsterdam and the Wei-Wu-Ying Centre for the Arts in Taiwan.
