Wakilur Rahman is simultaneously a painter, printmaker and a sculptor. The artist has been dividing his time between Dhaka and Berlin since 1988. He has been addressing social issues through his artworks-especially painting and installation since the early ’80s. Based in Berlin for the last 22 years, he has always been a force in the local art scene with his new ideas and novel thought-pattern.

He completed his B.F.A from Dhaka Art College and his M.F.A from Central Academy of Fine Arts Peking, P.R. of China. He is the recipient of many awards, both locally and internationally. He has had solo exhibitions in Bangladesh and Germany.
