Two works from Bangladesh, Mohorpara Mosque at Shibpur by A.K.M Tanvir Hassan Niru (Architect Partner at Synthesis Architects, and Founding Partner at AND ORDEN), Manifa Rehnuma (Founding Partner at AND ORDEN), Nahid Akram (Founding Partner at AND ORDEN), and Arcadia School by Saif Ul Haque (Principal at Saiful Haque Sthapati and Director of Research and Design Program at Bengal Institute) were among the works received the 27th JK Architect of the Year (JK AYA) instituted by the JK Cement Ltd. of India. The awards were given out by Pritzker laureate Balkrishna Doshi at a ceremony held on July 28, 2018 in Ahmedabad.
The ceremony besides giving away of the awards also included a symposium ‘Future of Architecture : Architectural Ethics and Prospects’ participated by well known architects including B.V. Doshi and moderated by Kazi Khaleed Ashraf, the Director General of Bengal Institute.
